Ms. Siani was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable person in our school both about universities and the process of admissions itself. Always available, always willing to help, and an amazing person to work with! Thank you for everything Ms. Siani!

Debbie Di Verde
Debbie served as my intern during the fall 2014 semester in my Children’s Literature Class at the College of Lake County. I quickly realized that Debbie was an affable and highly intelligent colleague who would contribute significantly to the pedagogy of the course. Debbie was eager to become involved almost immediately in the planning of the syllabus, the readings, the assignments, and, most importantly, class activities. Debbie’s strengths lie in her enthusiasm and her ability to think quickly on her feet. On the first day I asked her to play the role of an emcee in a children’s literature themed Family Feud ice breaker game. She eagerly adapted to the role, and her high level of energy was infectious and remained so throughout the entire semester. I am sure that the dynamics of the class would have played out quite differently had she not taken on such a significant part of the class.

Mrs. Siani-Athanasiou is one of the best teachers I have come across, and I don't say that lightly. She is selfless, resourceful and goes above and beyond to help you. A particularly unique trait is her ability to connect with us, her students, to really empathize with what a high schooler must be going through. She was instrumental in helping me shape my personal statement so as to showcase who I am in the most effective way. The mock interviews that she assisted me with undoubtedly helped me gain entry into three UK medical schools. She's great!

Debbie Di Verde
My experiences in Ms. Di Verde’s classroom were by far the most positive and memorable ones in my academic career to date. She encouraged creativity and self-expression for our writing, all while showing us techniques that made our essays stronger. Not only was she a great professor, but her kind spirit made it easy for my peers and I to come to her with any questions or concerns whether they were academic or not.
Marianna H.T., Northeastern University in Boston Major: Psychology & Behavioral Neuroscience
One of the reasons I liked talking to Mrs. Siani was her personality and her attitude towards us- the students. She was always willing and delighted to help me with any questions I had either regarding university or choices concerning internships. My choice of university was not the first one, however, she seemed very fond of it and their work, and explained to me why it would be a good fit for me; and turns out it was a great choice!

I believe things happen for a reason and they did! Debbie Di Verde came into our son's life when he was going through an extremely challenging time. Our son was not only an underperforming Junior at High School but more worryingly he saw no future for himself. Debbie became his English teacher and opened up his love for writing. Debbie also mentored our son and helped him to recognise his strengths and potential - we got the son we knew and loved back - and he went off to college last August. Debbie is a very special and beautiful lady both inside and out and we count her as a good friend in our lives. Thank you

I have worked with Debbie Di Verde as a fellow actor and in my studio as a private vocal student at Metropolis Performing Arts Center and School of the Performing Arts since 2008. In that time I observed her to be hard working, talented, kind, respectful, and open to ideas and constructive criticism. Debbie is always striving to do her personal best and deeply cares for the success of her colleagues and the project as a whole.
I particularly remember her working on a challenging vocal passage in preparation for a performance and she made very quick adjustments that gave her almost immediate results. This is not something that all singers have the ability to do. Debbie is very good at taking direction as well as putting her own personality into her work. She succeeds in every endeavor because of her positive attitude and dedication.I particularly remember her working on a challenging vocal passage in preparation for a performance and she made very quick adjustments that gave her almost immediate results. Mrs Siani was the most up-to-date, diligent and enthousiastic career advisor St.Catherines has ever had!! She had the most unique internship ideas and was always available and keen to help. Not only did she help me with my college application but she was also such a positive energy to have in the examination room when giving our IGCSE exams.

George P. Mechanical Engineering-Imperial College, London
Dear Sir/Madam, My name is George Papasotiriou, and I am a second year Mechanical Engineering Student at London's Imperial College. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Eleni Siani-Athanasiou during her time as a University Admissions Counselor at my school. Ms. Siani guided me through what I consider to be one of the toughest decisions of my life. She helped me select the optimum field of study. She aided my transition from IGCSE into the IB, in the most professional and positive manner, and gave me the reassurance I needed to follow my instinct. Additionally, she thoroughly explained and assisted me with my American applications and it is her outstanding guidance, support and mentorship that I have successfully achieved admission in one of my top universities. I whole heartedly recommend Ms. Siani as a trained professional in all the aforementioned areas of interest.

Ms. Siani was the university counselor during my high school years. My school was a traditional British School with a strong know-how of the UK university application process. At the time, I was not sure what I was interested in pursuing and so I decided to apply to the United States for my undergraduate studies. Ms. Siani proved a valuable ally in an environment that was often discouraging to US applicants by providing me with valuable guidance on how to tackle the Common Application, how to balance school commitments, with the rigorous United States application process, and by advocating on my behalf to teachers that were unaware of the United States application particularities. Aside from her consistent professionalism, she always strived to connect with her students on a personal level in order to be able to offer them the best possible advice to find their perfect fit; a quality that set her apart from her colleagues. All in all, Ms. Siani is a true professional and a wonderful person!
Anne P., Head of IB, St. Catherine’s British School, Athens
I consider myself fortunate to have worked with Eleni during her time at St. Catherine's British School in Athens. An exceptionally empathetic and dedicated educator with a can-do approach to life, she was enormously popular among the older children to whom she gave university and career counselling and offered pastoral support, as well as among the younger children to whom she taught English. We thank her for the annual careers fair which she established at our school and which continues to flourish. A loyal and valued colleague!
Andreas K. Senior-Maine East High School Class of 2018
It was because of Ms. Siani that I have been able to get through my University applications process this year. I have had two Ivy League interviews that I am still awaiting results from. Ms Siani was instrumental in this experience as she coached me for hours on end before my meetings. I was extremely prepared! I have been accepted to six excellent universities and am still waiting on two more. The action plan that we set forth in October was precise and assisted me greatly in navigating through a very rigorous academic program of AP classes, extracurriculars and Varsity Volleyball.
Yvonne M. IB Psychology Teacher, St. Catherine’s British School, Athens
Eleni (Helen) is dynamic, genuine and positively in tune with the needs of both colleagues and students. Having worked with her in the private sector, I can testify that it was an uplifting experience!
Thanasis P. Maritime Business-Southhampton Solent University, UK
Having Ms. Sianis' help in the final year at school was very stress relieving and helpful. She helped me with my personal statement, something that requires a lot of knowledge for both the USA and UK alike. Always ready to help, always professional, she provided me with valuable tips to incorporate in my applications, certain points that should not be forgotten, such as the difference in layout for both applications. Throughout my first year of the IB, she referred me for a position as an intern at a lifestyle site in our area. There I was given the opportunity to publish articles that were assigned to me. This experience helped me gain a new skill set and contributed to my CAS portfolio. Even today, Ms. Siani would be my point of reference if I were to find a different university.
Rena W., Parent of Yolie W.-Northeastern University, USA
When the time came to start applying for Yolanda's universities in the United States; a process completely unknown to us, we were lucky to have Eleni by our side. Knowledgeable, effective, supportive, always responsive to our request for help, she was there to make the whole process easier and at the end of the day, successful for our daughter. Parents and students who have her in their life are lucky! I know we were and always will be thankful for the positive contribution to our daughter's life.
Athina F., CAS Coordinator, St. Catherine’s British School, Athens
Eleni is a dynamic, capable person with strong work ethics. She has been successfully organising the careers fair for a number of years, demonstrating outstanding organizational skills and well calculated choices. Her warm-hearted, caring personality along with her excellent communication skills make her ideal to work with. Her inner generosity and ethical abundance make her a valuable member of the community and an inspiration for the younger generations.
